The chair is an investigation into the assumptions we have in regard to metal, as these are challenged and altered in the surprising meeting between the chair and the body. The seating and backrest create a soft and bouncy experience due to the construction principle, where lamellas rest in the structure taking advantage of the inherent flexibility. The investigative approach to materials, their qualities and the experience they induce become the defining element.
By making a deliberate reference to the slat chair by Gunnar Aagaard Andersen (1919-82) and by letting the investigative approach and the material experiment become the defining and crucial element in the design, the chair pays a tribute to the artist and designer, a pioneer within Danish design.
